TYPES OF MASTERING SERVICES

GOLD MASTERING;

Mastering for Individual Songs and CDs.
Here at OMM we have put world class mastering within the grasp of independent, recording-artists. We realize that many independent recording artists cannot afford hourly mastering fees of hundreds of dollars per hour, so we have created a cost-saving, flat-rate per song, mastering package, which will fit any independent recording-artist's budget with ease. What many recording-artists and music fans are not aware of is just how great a difference is made to commercial recordings during the mastering stage. Before mastering, you might be surprised at just how ordinary some mixes sound. This mastering service will raise your CDs audio levels to professional standards; enhance the clarity, presence and dynamics of your songs mix and balance out the EQ stereospectrum for opitimal performance on most consumer playback systems.

 PLATINUM MASTERING;

When songs are recorded one song at a time in the studio, resulting in songs that all peak at different levels, have different EQ settings and various levels of clarity, loudness, and punch. Mastering is the final step in making a professional recording. It involves the objective evaluation of finished mixes, making necessary adjustments to unify those mixes into a cohesive sound and culminates in creating a red book-compatible master disc to be used by a replication plant. The ultimate purpose of mastering is to ensure that recorded music sounds its best in every listening environment, from studio monitors to car stereos to headphones. This allows the music to reach the widest possible audience with maximum impact. A mastering engineer unifies the album by using EQ and compression to give the entire album a consistent sound form track to track. The mastering process allows the engineer to not only raise the overall level of the album so the volume is greater, yet also enhances the clarity and dynamics of your album, giving it a signature sound that makes your music stand out as uniquely powerful.

RED BOOK CD MASTERING;

One of the things that separates an amateur from a professional CD is having a true Redbook CD and Sub Codes Properly Embedded into the disk and verified as error free.
This service is included with all CD mastering services FREE OF CHARGE

Red Book is the original CD-DA (Compact Disc Digital Audio) standard developed by Sony and Philips. The Red Book defines the format in which an audio CD must be recorded so that an audio CD player will play it. It also specifies what a CD-player must do to play audio CDs correctly. A CD recorded in accordance with the Red Book standard is playable in any CD player.

If your CD is not a true Red Book CD, having it replicated will most likely produce CDs that will not play in all CD players. Most consumer CDR burners burn to Orange Book and not Red Book Standards.
There are several subcodes also embeddd into a professionaly mastered Audio CD , some of which include:

*Table of Contents.
*The ISRC-Code holds the "serial number" of each track in a standardized format (as prescribed by the Red Book).
*The Media Catalog Number (MCN) is a unique identification number for the CD (UPC/EAN Bar-Code). It is issued centrally by the EAN authority and consists of a series of 13 consecutive digits.
*Copyright Bit
*Album Title, Song Titles, Copyright Notice, Producers Credits

IMPORTANT;

ALL SONGS  TO BE MASTERED SHOULD BE 24 BIT WAV FILES, AND SHOULD BE MIXED AT -3 db.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AS TO GIVE US SOME HEADROOM FOR PROPER MASTERING.
